About

Cassandra Julien

Cassandra Julien is a contemporary textile artist creating under the name Femme couleurs. Based in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, she explores textile art through tufting, weaving, and embroidery, three techniques that allow her to shape a vibrant universe where color plays a central role. This intuitive and sensitive chromatic approach has become the distinctive signature of her work.

Rooted in a humanistic practice, Femme couleurs reflects on the place of women in society, particularly that of women-mothers. She highlights their invisible labor, the unspoken expectations, and the quiet strength that inhabits them. Her pieces pay tribute to these essential yet often overlooked presences, infused with resilience and depth.

For Cassandra, creating is a way of weaving connections between material and emotion. Her work draws from small everyday moments, from softness, nuance, and the quiet power of the women who inspire her. Each piece is conceived as a space of color, comfort, and sensibility, an invitation to feel rather than to explain. Through Femme couleurs, she seeks to offer works that resonate, that accompany, and that remind us that beauty can be a place to rest.

« Each piece is conceived as a space of color, comfort, and sensibility, an invitation to feel rather than to explain.»
